Huawei unveils its new smartphone Nova 5T and surprisingly it has Google Apps

New Huawei phones are banned from including Google services due to the political agreement between Beijing and Washington. This makes the smartphone less user-friendly restricting the user from accessing the play store and other Google services.

Phones like Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, which was released in September, suffer from the ban. These do not include any Google services. But the Huawei Nova 5T is an exception from the ban as it announced in August in China, and it is likely to be launched in the EU in November.

Huawei Nova 5T is an average phone costing $500, which is affordable and is priced less than the Mate series. Though hardware efficiency is less than the Mate series, it has a pretty good camera performance. Elaborating its specifications, it is Kirin 980 based smartphone with a display of 6.26-inch and a hole punch front-facing camera of 32MP with 0.8 micro pixels.

The rear camera has four divisions that are the main camera of 48MP with 0.8 micro pixels, the secondary camera of 16 MP with 13mm Ultra-wide, tertiary camera 2MP with Deep Sensor, and extra camera 2MP with 27mm Macro module. Other features are battery capacity with 3750 mAh and a side fingerprint sensor (Power Button combo).

Huawei Nova 5T is same as the Honor 20 Pro because it is just a customized refit under a different name. Huawei Nova 5T has the same features of the Honor 20 Pro, except there is only a change in the OS and the cover that it has a colorful, textured rear panel -Crush Blue Midsummer Purple Black.

Also, the Huawei Nova 5T has an updated Dram of 8 GB. Indeed, Huawei Nova 5T has included all the features of Google as it was registered with Google before the agreement between the United States and China. Though Huawei Mate series does not include any Google services, it was a shock to see it labeled Android in its European release.

Before the launch of the Mate 3, there were many reports as to how users might install Google services through unauthorized Chinese software’s. But Richard Yu, the consumer boss of Huawei, explained that none of the techniques could bypass Google license enforcement, and none are safe too.

Actually, Huawei is the brand that is greatly being affected as Trump administration placed the Chinese brand on the blacklist. So this led to the blocking of all the Google services to the Chinese phone brands. Even this led to some retailers stopping to work with Huawei in fear of Trump’s government. Huawei Nova 5T might be last piece of the brand with Google services.

Huawei spokesman Joe Kelly said, “Huawei will continue to use the Android OS and ecosystem if the U.S. government allows us to do so, otherwise, we will continue to develop our own operating system and ecosystem”.

Also, a spokesman told, “We are complying with the order and reviewing the implications. For users of our services, Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices”.

The company says, “Huawei has made substantial contributions to the development and growth of Android around the world. As one of Android’s key global partners, we have worked closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefited both users and industry. Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor Smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally”.
