Tesla unveiled its new and angular Cybertruck in Tesla’s design studio on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 in Hawthorne, Calif. Accompanying the blackish beauty, was its perfect two-seater angular pairing called Cyberquad.
On Nov. 22, a day after the Los Angeles launch, Tesla CEO Musk tweeted, “Tesla 2 person electric ATV will come at first as an option for Cybertruck.” Elon Musk confirmed on Twitter that the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) would be first available as an option with the Cybertruck. Notice the use of “first”. And that is what gets all the techies wondering what the phrase pointed at. Although the fact that the final production would require some time is also no less obvious.
Tesla had claimed that the pickup truck it exhibited at the event in Los Angeles was bulletproof. But it seems the show had other plans. When the company’s lead designer Franz von Holzhausen hit the glass window with a baseball-sized metal ball, even Musk got all surprised to see it break, both of the times. The whole of the event went well except that the glass broke.
The glass windows had shattered when smashed by the metal ball, gathered quite a stir in Twitter and other social media circles got talking. Elon Musk himself, getting stunned at the shattering of the armored glass window panes in the ballistic prototype, talks of how highly anticipated the unveiling of the futuristic truck had been.
Elon Musk tweeted, “Franz throws steel ball at Cybertruck window right before launch. Guess we have some improvements to make before production haha.” After the demonstration went in an unplanned direction, Musk tweeted that the vehicles would need time before they are finally out for production. The ATV Cyberquad that is a two-person, and a four-wheeler would get charged by getting into the backspace of the Cybertruck. The truck bed is comprised of 110/240V outlets and an air compressor too.
The triangular truck has got an adaptive suspension, which leans back for the ATV to get loaded into itself easily. The ATV has been appreciated quite a lot for its zero-emission features, but other than that, hardly any capabilities or even a potential cost has come to light.
Coming to the Cybertruck, to some quarters, it is an odd-looking vehicle. The pickup truck has got multiple triangles or trapezoid structure, which is quite a show to some. The interiors are good and sturdy built. What is amazing is the speed, that too: zero to 60 under three seconds!
The interior of the speed truck that is made of sharp angles follows the trail left by Model 3, which had a single display for everything. Talk about space, and Tesla has got a good quantity of leg and headroom space. The truck has got some equally interesting features like a locking bed, autopilot support, and automatic alignment.
Cybertruck can surely be an attraction for buyers that are not too vested in mainstream vehicles. But any specifications for the electric ATV have not been revealed yet. It is difficult to say whether the ATV would make it up until the production that has been given a later date for further corrections post the demo on Thursday.
